The rest of Rome

First up, an apology.

For the die hard fans of this blog, I can imagine the past month has been difficult, waiting to hear the next instalment of our Italian adventure. (Mum, I’m looking at you) Basically, we did not die. We did however enjoy many of Rome’s fine bars and therefore end up slightly worse for wear the next day and to be perfectly honest, completely unable to post here. We barely made it out of the apartment.

Saying that, some time in the afternoon, we did make it out. In fact, we made it all the way out to the Colosseum. In fairness, by the time we’d walked there (in the still sweltering heat, mind you), it was very shut. I know I’ll be back to Rome, so I don’t mind too much, though I will say that just going and looking at it is unlikely to give the experience needed to really appreciate the historic building.

Also, as with the trevi fountain, a lot of work was going on in the area – there was scaffolding up around a lot of it, and it didn’t look its best.

To be candid, that was what I managed that day. Shameful, I know.

I did manage to take some pictures though… (Yes including the one at the top of the post that’s all of them)

Over the next few days I’ll write up the rest of our trip – which included a train ride and stay in Naples, and a day in beautiful Capri. Then I’ll continue on to provide a detailed, yet entertaining, write up of my road trip around Norway. If that doesn’t make you want to come back, I don’t know what will. Except potentially my offering of the best gif ever?

Again, apologies for my tardiness.

Here is a gif of a dog wearing boots to make up for it: http://s3-ec.buzzfed.com/static/2014-07/15/17/enhanced/webdr09/anigif_enhanced-buzz-13994-1405460824-10.gif

SEE YOU TOMORROW.

Love,

Abi

P.S. If you’re desperate for picz (Which I assume is everyone reading this – again, Mum, I’m looking at you) then lucky for you, there is a way of seeing my beautiful photography RIGHT HERE: WWW.FLICKR.COM/CUPOFTEA93/14594757904/ (Excited upper case letters optional)

That link is to the first photo taken in Italy (by me, not ever obviously), so if you click on it, then view the rest of Italy by going left, or go right to revisit Paris. If you just want a quick overview, including Norway (may be a bit of a spoiler for my tales to come though) then go to http://www.flickr.com/cupoftea93

CONGRATULATIONS THE POST IS OVER
