Happy Thursday everybody; Where are you in the world right now?
Personally, I am on my way to Calgary (flying from Montreal airport), ready for a few days in Banff/Lake Louise to hit up the hiking trails (I’m wearing my faithful boots right now!) before getting the train across the Rockies to Vancouver! The last couple of days have been spent in Montreal (hence the French intro!), and before that Quebec City, Ottawa and Toronto; we had a hire car between Toronto and Montreal, but Rodge the Dodge (A Dodge Journey) has been dropped off now, and we’re going to be employing almost every other method of transport possible as our trip continues.
Canada has my heart for sure now and it has been absolutely wonderful hearing about it’s history and culture, from museums and local people, of which I didn’t realise how little I knew about. For example, I drove past a town named after the one I grew up in in England, and then got to read about it at Chateau Ramezay yesterday, which was a little strange! Moments like that show that the world isn’t such a big place after all…
Also, on a different note, maple syrup and poutine are absolutely on point. That just had to be mentioned; thank you Canada.
I’m yet to really have a moment to stop (in all honesty, pretty much any time we haven’t spent exploring has been spent asleep!) and so, I know that my updates on here have been fairly terrible, for which I do apologise!
I have managed to keep up with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram a little, so if you’ve been following along on there, hello again! If we’re not connected, we definitely should – comment with your details and I’ll be sure to make time to follow/like etc!
I have a million and one pictures, stories and facts to spout once I’m back and have managed to decode everything in my camera / notepad / brain, so keep your eyes peeled!
For now, here’s a taste of what I’ve seen:
P.S. Just because I haven’t been writing, doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading though – it has been wonderful waking up to read emails from the blogosphere; I have had wi-fi at all of my hotels so far, but don’t tend to have any internet whilst I’m out and about, unless I duck into a cafe, so it’s lovely to have something already on my phone that’s good to read if/when I ever get a minute! Apologies though, for the lack of interaction; I have been enjoying them all!
