Happy Sunday Everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day; spring has finally sprung, and I’ve got some good songs for you.
This first song must be in my top 20, maybe even top 10, most played songs. I can’t even necessarily put my finger on how come. All I know, is that it’s extremely listenable and you should pop it on your travel playlist right now, because it pleases me greatly to be able to share it with you.
Before you know it, it’ll be your go to song too (I hope).
Mapei, Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment – Don’t Wait (Remix)
Secondly, is a song I heard at the end of an episode of Vinyl that I watched the other day. Has anyone else seen the series? While I mention it, I really must recommend it. It’s stressful viewing at times, but keeps me on the edge of my seat. I’ve been watching it on the tube, which isn’t something I would recommend, unless you enjoy random strangers judging you whilst glancing over your shoulder and seeing nude people hang out near Alice Cooper…
It’s not one of the classic Vinyl-y type records, aka James Brown or Slade, but actually a remix of Sinnerman. I’ve heard this song many times (I think my favourite use was in the trailers for Sherlock, if I’m honest), but I’d never considered how ethereal it could be if played at just the right moment when travelling.
They used the 1965 live in New York version in Vinyl, but the Thomas Crown Affair version is my personal favourite:
Nina Simone – Sinnerman
P.S. Don’t forget that you can find the full travel playlist so far on Spotify.
