6 WEEKS TO GO (This makes me run to my to do list in fear every week – how is become so close, so quickly?!)

After Washington DC, Shenandoah, Great Smokies and Nashville, our next stop is… CHICAGO.

I’ve never been, but I’m very excited to enter into the realm of pizza, wind and hot dogs, the home of some of my favourite TV shows (Happy Endings and Marry Me to name a couple) and where route 66 begins.

We will have had our fill of country and cowboy boots by this time from Nashville, and I imagine it will be a big change of scenery. We haven’t booked or even shortlisted accommodation yet, but I think we’re hoping to stay somewhere central and within easy reach of all the things we’d like to do.

This is our legitimate shared list of what we intend on doing during our two nights in Chicago so far:

  • Have fun
  • Planetarium
  • Field Museum
  • Science and Industry
  • History Museum
  • Shportz
  • Lincoln Square
  • Navy Pier
  • PIZZA (refer to Mary Kate and Ashley video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6DA_WwO90c)
  • Art Musee
  • Baseball Game? =
  • Second City Gig
  • Go and see the different sections i.e. Little Italy etc

If anyone can beat any of our in depth, and incredibly high brow ideas (sarcasm, of course) then please drop me a comment below or via social media. You may notice that pizza is on the list. Believe me, though it is in the middle of the list, it is top priority in my heart. Hence, I’d like to spark the age old debate… Where can the best pizza in Chicago be found?

Finally, we’ll have an extremely long drive between Nashville and Chicago, can anyone recommend the best place for us to stop in the middle? (Not overnight, just as a stop off). I’m currently thinking Louisville because I’ve been there before and liked it, but if you have somewhere new I’m easy breezy and loving the suggestions that have been made by you lovely people in the past, hence I trust you.

Thank you so much for all your previous help, it is massively appreciated! We can’t wait to take you all along for the ride in April!
