So, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll probably know that we’re back to the states in roughly 10 weeks (we’re a teensy bit over excited) and planning is properly getting underway: our flights are booked, and our route is very nearly set in stone.
Our next step, is figuring out what we actually want to do in each place… Hence, I’m going to start writing about what it is we’re going to be doing, in the hope that some of you lovely, well travelled people, will be able to give us some hints and tips on what to and not to do in these amahzing destinations, in April.
Stop 1 is… WASHINGTON DC
We’re flying in on a Friday, and leaving Monday morning. So three nights there all in all!
I’ve never been and I’m so over excited. After reading about Bill Bryson’s visit, I’ve been hankering after a trip to the Smithsonian and a good view of the White house. But surely there’s a lot more to it than that?
Here’s what we have in mind so far:
- National Gallery of Art
- Cherry Blossom Festival
- Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool
- Get married to Obama
- Library of Congress
- Jefferson Memorial
- Washington Monument
Does anyone have any other recommendations? Someone said to me about the Newseum – has anyone else been?
