During my recent Scotland posts, I mentioned my bucket list and promised to share. A bucket list is basically a list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket. Everyone’s is different, and it can include literally anything; whatever is important to you.

So, here goes… (Not all of them are Travel related. Sometimes I do other things)

Things I’ve Done (That are Bucket List Worthy IMO)

Get a degree

Road trip America (And visit the Grand Canyon / Niagara Falls / Yosemite / Monument Valley etc along the way)

(Here we are casually eating pizza at the Grand Canyon)

Learn to ski (and be able to ski black runs)

Go to the Scottish highlands

Get my driving licence

Be a god mother

See the Northern Lights

Work in tv and film (This photo was taken whilst waiting for the rain to stop so we could resume filming)

Zip Line in an awesome location ( Across a valley in Croatia)

Travel Norway (We road tripped: this is a photo of a section of the famous Atlantic Road. Yes, it’s insane.)

Get my black belt (In Karate/Kickboxing)

Be a bridesmaid

Have my own radio show (True story. But the photos are too embarrassing to share.)

Run a half marathon

Yet To Do (A lot of these are travel related)

Go in a hot air balloon in a cool location

Ride a motorbike (In any location)

Visit all the continents

Go to Canada

See the pyramids

See a whale in it’s natural environment

Finish this damn patchwork cushion (I’ve been doing it for a while now)

Learn to play guitar (Technically I can play, but I wouldn’t say it’s a particularly pleasant listening experience)

Go to Pompeii

Learn calligraphy

Hike the Penine way

Hike either the PCT or Appalachian trail

Write a book

Hike the Inca Trail up to Macchu picchu

Great Wall of China

Go to Lands End (Maybe even walk from John O’Groats if have a month or so)

Go on a safari

Visit NASA in Florida

Visit the Smithsonian

Run a full marathon

Visit Bora Bora

I’m constantly adding to this, and do take ideas on for inspiration! Is there an experience you’d recommend?

There are loads of sites out there telling you things you should do before you die (Such as) and some are great for inspiration, but I think that a bucket list should be a very personal thing – what do you want to do before you die? What are you proud of doing? Just because one person wants to do something, doesn’t mean everyone will want to. Also, remember that just because it’s a ‘bucket list’ doesn’t mean everything on it has to be a big thing. Finishing a patchwork cushion isn’t exactly life affirming, but as someone that is terrible at sewing yet really excited about learning and improving, it’s a pretty big deal.
